Ernesto Garratt

Ernesto Garratt is a journalist and a Chilean film critic.
He studied journalism at Universidad de Chile and sometimes he teaches subjects that are related to journalism in this same university (for example reporting and writing workshop).

Garratt has worked in newspapers as "La Tercera", "El Mercurio" and the magazine "Qué Pasa". He also  writes film critics in the "Wikén" supplement of "El Mercurio". He too worked on a television series called "Mira tú". Garratt was screenwriter in this opportunity.

Within the area of film criticism he has been sworn at film festivals such as London, Moscow and Cannes. In 2012 he published the book "Tardes de Cine", a selects a series of interviews with famous filmmakers. He too has appeared on "Canal 13" speaking about film premieres.

Garratt has interviewed various personalities of world cinema, as Francis Ford Coppola, Clint Eastwood, Juliette Binoche, Pedro Almodóvar, Natalie Portman, Darren Aronofsky, Catherine Deneuve, Harrison Ford and Woody Allen. He knows enough of the world of stars...

I admire Ernesto Garratt because he is a fun and creative person. He is an excellent journalist. Is an honor for me to have lessons with him and learn from him always.
This year Garratt was not my teacher but I read him in the newpapers and I see him on TV sometimes and I feel I am still learning from him.
